China offers ¥3,600 to parents

China’s government is offering parents ¥3,600 annually for each child under three years old.

This latest development was announced on July 28, 2025, aimed at boosting the country’s declining birth rate and supporting families with young children.

According to a latest development, over 20 million Chinese families are expected to benefit from this programme.

A recent report claims that the Chinese government has allocated $12.5 billion for childcare benefit payments in 2025 to support this initiative.

Meanwhile, local governments have also introduced their own incentives, including Hohhot’s offer of up to ¥100,000 per child for families with three or more kids.

Cities including Shenyang and Hohhot are also offering incentives, including monthly stipends and one-time payments, to encourage families to have more children.
