Chelsea’s £64m bid for Scott rejected by Bournemouth

Bournemouth have rejected a £64 million bid from Chelsea for midfielder Alex Scott, insisting the England Under-21 international is not for sale despite growing uncertainty over his contract situation.

The Premier League club informed Chelsea that they have no intention of negotiating for the 22-year-old and do not welcome further approaches during the current transfer window.

Scott has two years remaining on his contract, although he recently turned down a new deal that Bournemouth have been trying to finalise for several months. Despite that setback, the Cherries remain determined to keep one of their key players.

Chelsea are among several clubs monitoring Scott’s situation, with Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City also showing interest earlier this summer. Arsenal previously had an approach also rejected in June.

Bournemouth insist on keeping Scott

Bournemouth believe they are under no financial pressure to cash in after securing Europa League qualification and raising significant funds through the sales of Dean Huijsen, Milos Kerkez, Illia Zabarnyi and Dango Outtara last summer.

The club have adopted a similar stance over highly rated forward Junior Kroupi, who has attracted interest from Arsenal and Tottenham, while Brazil international Rayan is also expected to remain after joining the club in January.

Scott is currently with Marco Rose’s squad at their pre-season training camp in Austria as preparations continue for the new campaign.
