Chelsea rule out Palmer exit amid Man United links

Chelsea have moved to shut down speculation surrounding Cole Palmer’s future, insisting the England attacker is not for sale despite renewed reports linking him with a move to Manchester United.

The 23-year-old, who joined Chelsea from Manchester City in 2023, has been the subject of rumours suggesting he is homesick and interested in a return to Manchester, where United are said to be monitoring his situation.

However, senior figures at Stamford Bridge are understood to view Palmer as a core part of the club’s long-term plans.

Since arriving in west London, Palmer has established himself as one of Chelsea’s standout performers, scoring 41 Premier League goals and providing 19 assists.

His impact has made him one of the most valuable assets in the squad and central to the club’s ongoing rebuild.

Chelsea stance on Palmer future

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea consider Palmer “untouchable” and have no intention of entertaining transfer offers, regardless of external interest.

The report adds that the club are confident Palmer will remain at Chelsea for the foreseeable future, with no indication he is pushing for a move.

Importantly, there has been no formal communication from Palmer expressing dissatisfaction or a desire to leave. Chelsea sources believe the homesickness narrative is speculative and not reflective of the player’s position.

Rosenior dismisses exit rumours

Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior has also dismissed suggestions that Palmer is unsettled. Speaking at a press conference ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League fixture against Crystal Palace, Rosenior insisted the forward is content at the club.

“I’ve had numerous conversations with Cole and he seems very, very happy to be here,” Rosenior said. “He is very, very happy to be here.

“He’s a huge part of our plans in the long term. He’s an outstanding player.”

Rosenior also addressed Palmer’s limited involvement this season, attributing it to fitness issues rather than off-field concerns.

The England international has been managing a groin problem that has restricted him to 12 league appearances and ruled him out of Chelsea’s recent Champions League win over Pafos.

“He was frustrated because he couldn’t perform to the level he wanted to,” Rosenior added. “He was in pain. That’s why I didn’t involve him in the last game.”

Focus remains on season targets

Chelsea are currently focused on finishing the season strongly, with Palmer expected to play a key role once fully fit.

While the club continue to explore potential reinforcements in defence and midfield before the transfer window closes, there is no indication that Palmer’s future is under discussion.
