Chelsea held to frustrating draw against ten-man Burnley

Chelsea endured yet another disappointing result as they were held to a 2-2 draw by ten-man Burnley at Stamford Bridge.

The result led to frustrations among fans and criticism towards manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Despite taking the lead twice in the game, Chelsea failed to secure all three points against the relegation-threatened side.

The match took a dramatic turn just before halftime when Burnley’s Lorenz Assignon was sent off for two yellow cards, followed by manager Vincent Kompany’s dismissal for his protests against the decision.

Cole Palmer opened the scoring for Chelsea from the penalty spot, seemingly setting them on course for victory.

However, Burnley fought back, with Josh Cullen’s stunning strike leveling the score early in the second half.

Palmer restored Chelsea’s lead with his second goal of the game in the 78th minute, but their advantage was short-lived as Dara O’Shea equalized for Burnley just three minutes later.

Despite late chances for both teams, including a near-miss by Burnley’s Jay Rodriguez, the match ended in a frustrating draw for Chelsea.

The result adds to Chelsea’s woes under Pochettino’s management, with inconsistent performances plaguing their season.
