“But I escaped him” — Lady recounts encounter with Odogwu Asaba arrested over alleged rape

A lady identified as Nnenna on X has shared her experience with Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as Odogwu Asaba, following his arrest over alleged rape.

In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), Nnenna claimed she had an encounter with the content creator in 2018 and said she narrowly escaped an experience that could have changed her life.

Nnenna recounts 2018 encounter

In one of her posts, she wrote: “Ifeanyi Ogbonna aka Odogwu Asaba. April 12, 2018. Only God knows what I would have turned into if I didn’t escape. Maybe a bitter soul, a walking dead or an actual dead person.

But I escaped him. Very young & naive me. He used to be one of our regular customer. Whenever he came to buy goods at Ochanja Mkrt, Onitsha, mostly Mondays & Fridays, he’d stop by our store to eat. He’d eat, pay and tip me.

Naive me couldn’t tell the difference between customer kindness and crossed boundaries.”

In another post, she expressed anger over the allegations against him, writing:

“May the universe be against anyone who sympathizes with or defends this horny vulture. He isn’t remorseful. He isn’t sorry.”

She also alleged that the filmmaker was obsessed with virgins, adding: “He’s so obsessed with virgins. ‘It won’t pain you.’ ‘There’s always a first time for everything.’ Ifeanyi should be killed.”

In a separate post, Nnenna lamented not having the technology and social media awareness available today during the alleged incident.

She wrote: “How I wish I had the phone capabilities and social media awareness back in 2018 that we have today. Gathering evidence or recording videos would have been so much easier.”

The posts surfaced after Ifeanyi Ogbonna’s arrest over alleged rape, although authorities have yet to conclude investigations into the case.
