Businesswoman breaks down in tears after allegedly losing ₦10 million in thrift contribution

A Nigerian businesswoman has shared an emotional video after allegedly losing ₦10 million she had painstakingly saved through a contribution scheme, saying the setback has shattered her plans to expand her business.

Speaking in a tearful video shared on X (formerly Twitter), she explained that the money was not meant for luxury or personal enjoyment but was meant to expand her factory after months of hard work and sacrifice.

In her words, she said:

“I never knew a time would come when I would make this kind of video. For some people, the money might be small, but I know how hard I worked for it. This month was supposed to be my turn.

I was meant to receive ₦10 million. It wasn’t for a new car or a luxury lifestyle. It was for my factory. It was for my growth.”

The woman lamented that the entire sum she had been saving since last year was lost after the coordinator allegedly failed to pay her.

She revealed that the matter has already been reported to the police, but she is yet to recover the money, leaving her devastated and uncertain about her business expansion plans.

“Just like that, the ₦10 million I’ve been saving since last year was gone. The coordinator has not paid my money. The matter has been reported to the police, but I still haven’t recovered what belongs to me,” she added.

Her emotional story has since sparked sympathy online, with many Nigerians urging people to be cautious when joining contribution schemes while praying that she recovers her money.
