Businessman slams man who sought funds to marry second wife
A Nigerian businessman has shared his disbelief after a man reportedly approached him for financial assistance to marry a second wife.
Recounting the encounter, the businessman said the man told him he had used his last transport fare from Katsina to seek money for the marriage plan.
“Imagine today somebody came to me, he told me he used his last card from Katsina to come and beg me for money so he can marry a second wife. Me do I have a first wife,” he said.
Questioning the man’s priorities, he added, “If you are not financially buoyant why marry a second wife. If you cannot take care of your responsibilities is it by force.”
The businessman further expressed concern over what he described as misplaced priorities among some youths seeking financial help.
“A lot of youths come to me for money, and when you ask them what they want to use it for, they’d want to use it for something that isn’t important. I no be federal government, I no be NGO. I’m a businessman. And I support small businesses that come my way,” he stated.
