Bundesliga: Bayern target Osimhen amid Kane contract doubts

Bayern Munich are reportedly exploring a move for Victor Osimhen as uncertainty lingers over the long-term future of Harry Kane.
The Bundesliga champions are understood to be planning ahead despite Kane’s prolific output this season.
The England captain, 32, remains under contract until 2027, but internal discussions have reportedly begun over succession planning should circumstances change before then.
Long-term succession strategy
According to reports, Bayern view Osimhen as a credible long-term option to lead the line at the Allianz Arena. Head coach Vincent Kompany is said to have monitored the striker’s development since his early professional years.

Osimhen is currently under contract with Galatasaray until June 2029 after the Turkish side converted his loan spell into a €75 million permanent transfer last summer.
The Istanbul club are reportedly under no pressure to sell and would be expected to demand a significant fee for their record signing.
Financial and tactical hurdles
Any potential deal would require a substantial financial commitment. Previous interest from Paris Saint-Germain has reportedly cooled due to valuation concerns and wage expectations, with suggestions that the forward’s salary demands could exceed €20 million annually.
Saudi Pro League clubs have also shown interest, though the player is believed to favour remaining in Europe.
Osimhen’s appeal lies in consistent end-product. Across multiple leagues, he has established himself as a reliable goalscorer capable of leading the line independently, a profile increasingly scarce in elite football.
For Bayern, the move is a strategic risk management rather than immediate replacement for Kane.
