Bukayo Saka becomes Arsenal’s highest-paid player with new five-year deal

Bukayo Saka has signed a new five-year contract with Arsenal, committing his future to the club until 2031.
Sources indicate the agreement makes the England international the highest-paid player at the club, with wages reported to exceed £300,000 per week.
Negotiations had been ongoing for several months, with Saka verbally agreeing to the extension in January.
The 24-year-old had previously signed a deal in 2023 that was due to run until 2027. The new contract secures his long-term future during what are widely considered his peak years.

Strategic boost for title push
The extension represents a significant move for Arsenal as they compete across multiple competitions this season. The club are currently top of the Premier League and remain active in the Champions League, FA Cup and EFL Cup.
Arsenal face Manchester City in the EFL Cup final next month, while also preparing for the Champions League knockout stages.
The deal continues a broader strategy of securing core players on long-term contracts. Over the summer, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly all signed new agreements.
Academy graduate to key figure
Saka made his first-team debut in 2018 at the age of 17 after progressing through Arsenal’s academy. He has since established himself as one of the club’s most influential players.
He has made 217 Premier League appearances, scoring 57 goals, and has seven goals in 33 matches across all competitions this season.
At international level, Saka has earned 48 caps for England national football team, scoring 14 goals. He is expected to feature in Thomas Tuchel’s squad for the upcoming World Cup in June.
By the time his new contract expires in 2031, Saka will have spent more than a decade as a professional at Arsenal, making the list of a few that have done so in the club’s recent history.
