Samuel Animashaun Perry (born September 18, 1993), professionally known as Broda Shaggi, is a Nigerian comedian, actor, songwriter, and singer. In 2022 and 2023, he won the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Award for Best Actor in a Comedy, Movie, or TV Series.

Broda Shaggi Biography

Broda Shaggi, real name Samuel Perry, was born on July 6, 1993, in the Nigerian state of Ogun. He was raised in Ogun State as a child, where he lived with his father, who is now deceased. He is currently 27 years old.

Similarly, contrary to popular belief, Broda Shaggi has declared that he is not currently involved in any relationships.

During his childhood, Broda Shaggi is claimed to have learnt a lot from his late father, who was an instructor at Mary Flower Junior High School, a nearby secondary school in Ogun state.

Broda Shaggi is assumed to have attended a comparable institution where his father taught before encouraging his education at the University of Lagos to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Arts.

Career

He became interested in acting at a young age after being influenced by his late father, a theatrical teacher. He began performing in comic acts while at university. He is known for his satirical plays, which he has uploaded on Instagram.

He did, however, achieve success with his parody drama Jesu in Mushin. He created various personalities before deciding on the name Broda Shaggi.

He is well-known in the industry for his comedic abilities and distinct personality. He has received numerous accolades, including the Future Awards Africa Nigeria Prize for Comedy and the City People Music Award for Comedy Act of the Year.

Broda Shaggi first garnered traction on social media platforms such as Instagram, where he shared short comedic routines. His internet popularity led to opportunities in Nollywood, Nigeria’s film industry, where he appeared in a number of films and television shows.

He has also released songs, including the smash single “Oya Hit Me”, which combines Afrobeat and Fuji music.
