As rumours continued to spread online, an unidentified associate of the singer released another video to address public speculation.

The man claimed that Destiny Boy had been battling a private health condition before his death and urged people to stop spreading unverified stories.

“God, I want to do this video before people start saying rubbish about Destiny Boy’s cause of death,” he said.

“Destiny was nursing a health issue in his body before he died. We tried for him, but he didn’t make it. May God rest his soul.”

Rise of a Fuji-Inspired Street Star

Born Afeez Adeshina, Destiny Boy discovered his passion for music at a young age and built a unique identity around Fuji-inspired sounds.

He began his journey at T2 Boys Studios in Agege, Lagos, where he worked as a backup dancer for veteran Fuji musician, Pasuma.

His big break came in 2019 after he released a Fuji-styled cover of Davido’s hit song If. The cover gained massive attention on social media and helped push him into the spotlight.

He later released covers of songs by Tekno, 2Baba, 9ice and Small Doctor, further cementing his place among young street-pop and Fuji-influenced artistes.

Music Career and Family Life

Destiny Boy went on to release several original songs, including Lamba, One Transaction, Gbese, Billion Dollar, Mio Gbonkankan and Lowkey.

Beyond music, the late singer also embraced family life. In November 2024, he and his partner, Iremide, welcomed their first child, a moment he reportedly cherished deeply.

As investigations continue, fans and colleagues remain hopeful that the police inquiry will bring clarity and justice in the tragic death of the young artiste.
