BREAKING: Maguire signs one-year contract extension with Manchester United

Harry Maguire has signed a one-year contract extension with Manchester United, with the agreement including an option for a further year.
The 33-year-old defender’s previous deal had been set to expire at the end of the current campaign, but the club have now moved to secure his short-term future amid a resurgence in form.
Revival under Carrick
Maguire has re-established himself as a key figure since the arrival of Michael Carrick as interim manager in mid-January.

The centre-back has started all 10 matches under Carrick, marking a significant turnaround after struggling for regular minutes earlier in the season.
His improved run of form comes after a difficult spell that included limited opportunities under former boss Ruben Amorim, as well as an eight-game absence due to a thigh injury.
Experience and silverware
Since joining United from Leicester City in a then-world record £80 million deal for a defender in 2019, Maguire has made 266 appearances for the club.
During that period, he has contributed to domestic success, helping United win the League Cup in the 2022-23 season and the FA Cup the following year.
