BREAKING: El-Rufai officially joins ADC months after leaving APC

Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), months after resigning from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
El-Rufai completed his registration at the ADC office in U/Sarki Ward, Kaduna State, collecting his membership card in the presence of loyal supporters, including former appointees and local government chairmen.
The former Minister of the FCT left the APC on March 10, citing a growing disconnect between his personal values and the current direction of the ruling party.
In his resignation letter, El-Rufai criticized APC leadership for abandoning the progressive ideals that once held the party together.
“Developments in the last two years confirm that there is no desire on the part of those who currently control and run the APC to acknowledge, much less address, the unhealthy situation of the party,” he wrote.
He also revealed that his repeated warnings over the party’s declining trajectory were allegedly ignored both privately and publicly.
With this official move to ADC, political observers believe El-Rufai is positioning himself for a new chapter in politics ahead of the 2027 elections.
El-Rufai’s entry into ADC is expected to trigger fresh political alignments, behind-the-scenes maneuvering, and heightened speculation as the 2027 election cycle approaches.
