BREAKING: Adeleke officially joins Accord Party days after leaving PDP, cites reasons

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has officially joined the Accord Party, days after leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He made the announcement on Tuesday at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in the presence of national and state leaders of the party.

Governor Adeleke revealed that he joined the Accord Party over a month ago with plans to seek re-election in 2026. He explained that the decision followed weeks of consultations with stakeholders and opinion leaders.

“I joined the Accord Party more than a month ago, precisely on November 6, as a platform to seek re-election in 2026. Stakeholders and residents of Osun State are aware of why we are taking this important decision,” he said.

He added that the Accord Party’s mission of welfarism aligns with his administration’s focus on citizens’ and workers’ welfare.

“We are united in progress and good intentions for the good people of Osun State. Our party is here to sustain the delivery of good governance in our dear state,” Adeleke said.

The governor emphasized that inclusive leadership and people-centered governance are at the core of his administration. He highlighted the progress made in infrastructure, social services, and overall welfare.

He also addressed the entire state, urging citizens from all regions to support the new platform for continued development and governance.

This move comes shortly after Adeleke resigned from the PDP, citing persistent leadership turmoil at the national level.

Governor Adeleke’s shift to the Accord Party signals a strategic move ahead of the 2026 elections, aiming to continue his administration’s focus on welfare, development, and inclusive governance across Osun State.
