Benjamin Sesko chooses Man United over Newcastle

RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko has opted to join Manchester United despite Newcastle United having a £74million bid accepted.
According to The Athletic, both Premier League clubs submitted similar offers, with United offering £65m plus £9m in add-ons and Newcastle’s bid structured as £72m plus £2m in fees.
However, Sesko has made clear his preference is to sign for the Red Devils.
United are continuing talks with Leipzig over the final fee, with confidence growing that they are now ahead in the transfer race.
The potential arrival of the Slovenian forward could mark a major summer overhaul in United’s frontline.
The club has already brought in Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5m and Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford for £71m.
Manager Ruben Amorim is reportedly prepared to offload Rasmus Hojlund for £30m to make room for Sesko.
Newcastle, desperate to improve their attack amid Alexander Isak’s push for a move away, had hoped to land Sesko.
Recall Isak had a £110m bid from Liverpool rejected earlier in the window, and the Magpies also let Callum Wilson leave at the end of last season.
