Bayern Munich in talks over Kane contract extension

Bayern Munich have opened discussions with Harry Kane over a possible contract extension, the club’s sporting director Max Eberl has confirmed.
Kane joined the Bundesliga champions from Tottenham Hotspur in August 2023 on a four-year deal worth an initial €100 million.
Since arriving in Munich, the England captain has been a central figure in Bayern’s domestic and European campaigns.
Club confirms negotiations
Speaking at a Bundesliga event in Frankfurt, Eberl acknowledged that talks are ongoing but stressed that no immediate decision is required.
“We’re talking to Harry, we’re talking,” Eberl said. “Everyone knows at some point a decision has to be made.”

Kane has delivered consistently since his move, scoring 119 goals and providing 30 assists in 126 appearances across all competitions.
He also lifted the first major trophy of his career last season, playing a key role in Bayern’s 2024-25 Bundesliga title win.
Kane settled in Munich
The 32-year-old has previously hinted at a long-term stay in Germany. In October, Kane said he “could definitely” see himself remaining at Bayern, adding that his desire to return to the Premier League had “gone down a little bit”.
This season, Kane has scored 34 goals in 30 matches under head coach Vincent Kompany, including 21 goals in 19 Bundesliga appearances.
He is also chasing Robert Lewandowski’s long-standing record of 41 goals in a single Bundesliga campaign.
Bayern chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen underlined the club’s calm approach to negotiations, pointing to Kane’s strong integration off the pitch.
“Harry has great confidence in us and he feels comfortable in Munich,” Dreesen said. “He and his family are settled in. Therefore, we’ve got absolutely no reason to rush.”
Kane has also helped Bayern secure second place in the Champions League group phase with one match still to play.
