Barcelona give condition for Marcus Rashford transfer

Barcelona are prepared to offer Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford a potential escape route from Old Trafford this summer, but only under strict financial and contractual conditions.

Per reports, the Catalan giants are exploring a loan deal for the 27-year-old England international, following Rashford’s public expression of interest in playing alongside rising star Lamine Yamal.

While United are keen to offload Rashford permanently, Barcelona are not in a position to meet a full transfer fee due to financial constraints.

This is especially because of their preparation to activate Nico Williams’ €53 million release clause from Athletic Bilbao.

Head coach Hansi Flick is said to be an admirer of Rashford and values his ability to operate across the front line, both on the wings and as a central option behind Robert Lewandowski.

Hence, a loan deal with an option to buy is being considered as a feasible arrangement.

United, facing renewed pressure to comply with Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), have identified Rashford, along with Jadon Sancho and Antony, as top-priority sales this window.

The club are also eager to remove Rashford’s £370,000-per-week salary from its books.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United remain in the mix, with manager Eddie Howe interested in bringing Rashford to St. James’ Park to bolster their Champions League campaign.

However, Newcastle’s ability to negotiate hinges on keeping Alexander Isak, amid mounting interest from Arsenal and Liverpool.
