“At 19 I was going to be a pastor, but I ran away” – Tonto Dikeh opens up

Nollywood actress and philanthropist Tonto Dikeh has shared a deeply personal account of her early spiritual journey, revealing that she once planned to become a pastor before walking away from the path.

She made this known while speaking in a recent livestream video interview.

Tonto Dikeh speaks on her divine calling

The actress disclosed that she felt a strong calling to serve God from a very young age and remained actively involved in church life after finishing secondary school.

According to her, the decision to abandon her plans for ministry at the age of 19 did not erase her deep connection to her faith.

Dikeh explained that her life experiences, including the challenges and controversies she has faced, were part of a larger divine process meant to shape her into who she is today.

She described her journey as far from ordinary, noting that every phase of her life played a role in refining her purpose.

The actress added that she believes God intentionally allowed her to pass through difficult seasons to mold her into a bold and resilient individual, stating that her life story reflects a calling that has always been present, even when she tried to run from it.

She said in part …

“I’ve always had this calling right from when I was a child. At 19 I was going to be a pastor, until I ran away. I’ve been in church since I left secondary school. So I had always known God intimately and intensely. And I’ve always known I had this calling. If you watch what has happened in my life, it is not ordinary. God called me and needed me to go through all I had to become the firebrand that I am today.”
