Asake responds as Seun Kuti tells him to ‘be careful’ of Wizkid amid online feud

Nigerian singer Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has finally reacted after Afrobeat musician Seun Kuti advised him to “be careful” of working with Wizkid.
The warning came amid a heated online feud between Seun Kuti and the Grammy-winning star.
Seun Kuti’s Advisory Sparks Tension
Seun Kuti had publicly cautioned Asake to stay wary of Wizkid following an intense social media exchange.
The feud initially erupted when Seun criticized Wizkid FC, calling them “the most ignorant fan base” and suggesting that their parents had not matched the achievements of his father, the legendary Fela Kuti.
Wizkid Fires Back
Wizkid responded, calling Seun a “fool at forty,” a “hungry b*stard,” and “a frog who lives in the mud.”
Seun Kuti later warned Wizkid to remove Fela’s tattoo from his body or risk never finding success again.
Asake Confirms Collaboration
Despite Seun Kuti’s caution, Asake proceeded with his collaboration with Wizkid. On January 23, 2026, he announced the release of their joint project, Real EP Vol. 1, via Instagram.
The post included a sleek promotional video and a caption in Yoruba, “Real EP Vol. 1 ti jade bayi”, which translates to “Real EP Vol. 1 is out now.”
Lead Single Dropped Earlier
This announcement follows the release of the EP’s lead single, Jogodo, which came out on January 16, 2026.
The track quickly garnered attention online, setting the stage for the full EP release.
Fans React to the EP
Fans of both artists have been eagerly sharing reactions on social media, with many praising the collaboration despite the ongoing feud between Seun Kuti and Wizkid.
