Arsenal’s Noni Madueke faces two months out with knee injury

Arsenal winger Noni Madueke is expected to be sidelined for around two months after suffering a knee injury in Sunday’s 1-1 Premier League draw against Manchester City.
The 23-year-old started the match but was replaced by Bukayo Saka at half-time after struggling with discomfort.
Injury scare eased but layoff looms
Head coach Mikel Arteta confirmed the winger felt the issue early on. “He had an issue very early in the match and he wasn’t well enough to continue,” Arteta told The Standard.
Per The Athletic, scans on Monday ruled out anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) damage, but Madueke will still miss a significant stretch of Arsenal’s fixtures, including at least one England international window.

Arsenal’s growing injury concerns
Madueke’s absence compounds Arsenal’s attacking woes. Kai Havertz remains out following knee surgery in August, Gabriel Jesus is sidelined long-term with an ACL tear, and captain Martin Odegaard continues to battle a shoulder problem.
That leaves summer signing Viktor Gyökeres as the club’s only recognised No 9.
Summer signing sidelined
Signed from Chelsea for £48.5m this summer, Madueke has featured in all six of Arsenal’s matches so far in the 2025-26 campaign.
His injury comes as the Gunners attempt to sustain momentum, having won three of their opening five league matches.
What’s next
Arsenal’s squad depth will be tested again when they face Port Vale in the Carabao Cup third round on Wednesday.
