Arsenal prepare more than £400k weekly package to entice Vinicius Junior

Arsenal are reportedly ready to make Vinicius Junior the highest-paid player in the club’s history as they step up plans to sign the Real Madrid forward.

According to The Daily Telegraph, the Premier League champions are said to be willing to improve on the Brazilian’s current reported £400,000-a-week salary in an attempt to convince him to move to the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal ready to break wage record

According to reports, Arsenal have discussed the financial package required to sign the 26-year-old and are prepared to offer a club-record contract.

The Gunners are understood to believe finances will not prevent them from pursuing one of world football’s most sought-after attackers.

Vinicius has entered the final 12 months of his contract with Real Madrid, although negotiations over a new deal are expected to resume in the coming weeks.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is keen to strengthen his attacking options as the club looks to build on its Premier League title triumph and challenge again for the UEFA Champions League.

Madrid determined to keep star winger

Despite Arsenal’s interest, Real Madrid are not expected to make negotiations easy.

New head coach Jose Mourinho reportedly wants to retain Vinicius as a central figure in his plans, while club president Florentino Perez has no desire to lose one of Madrid’s biggest stars.

No formal talks have also taken place between Arsenal and Real Madrid, but a Sunday report revealed Real Madrid value the Brazilian star around €160 million.

Real Madrid are also expected to strengthen their attack with the signing of RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomandé, who has agreed personal terms, although there is no indication the move is directly linked to Vinicius’ future.

Arsenal have had a relatively quiet transfer window so far, adding winger Christos Tzolis and goalkeeper Illan Meslier.
