Arsenal pick narrow win against Tottenham in North London Derby

Arsenal secured a hard-fought 3-2 win over Tottenham, extending their lead at the top of the Premier League table.

The action-packed match saw the Gunners take a 3-0 lead by half-time, starting with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s unfortunate own goal off a corner-kick by Bukayo Saka.

Tottenham then pulled one back through Micky van de Ven, but a VAR decision ruled it out for offside.

Following a penalty appeal by Tottenham, Arsenal capitalized on a counter-attack, with Kai Havertz finding Saka for a brilliant finish.

Havertz himself added a third goal with a powerful header from a corner-kick by Declan Rice.

The second half saw Tottenham mount a spirited comeback, sparked by Cristian Romero’s goal after a mistake by Arsenal’s David Raya.

Son Heung-min further reduced the deficit from the penalty spot after a foul by Declan Rice.

While Tottenham surged on, Arsenal’s defense held firm in the closing minutes, denying Tottenham’s attempts to complete the comeback.

The win marks another huge step for Arsenal, potentially paving the way for their first Premier League title in two decades.
