Arokodare faces defining night as Wolves host Liverpool

Tolu Arokodare steps back into the spotlight this evening as Wolverhampton Wanderers welcome Liverpool to Molineux in a fixture that carries weight at both ends of the table.
For Wolves, it is about survival. For Arokodare, it is about impact.
The Nigerian striker joined Wolves from Genk in September 2025 on a four-year deal after a standout campaign in Belgium, where he finished as the league’s top scorer with 21 goals in the 2024/2025 season. Expectations followed him to England.
Searching for consistency
Arokodare has featured 25 times in the Premier League this season, registering two goals. The numbers are modest, but context matters. Wolves have struggled collectively, limiting service and clear-cut opportunities.

His breakthrough moment arrived in December against Arsenal, when he powered home a late header to level proceedings before Wolves eventually fell 2-1.
It was a glimpse of the physical presence and timing that defined his spell in Belgium.
He also played a late role in Wolves’ 2-0 victory over Aston Villa, entering in the closing stages to help secure a rare clean-sheet win, a result that injected belief into a tense dressing room.
Opportunity under pressure
The season has tested him. A missed first-half penalty in a defeat to Crystal Palace was followed by online racial abuse, prompting strong condemnation and public backing from the club.
Now comes another high-stakes examination. Liverpool claimed a 2-1 win in the reverse fixture and arrive with momentum.
Wolves, anchored at the bottom of the table, cannot afford passive performances.
