Apple iPhone: iOS and iPadOS 26.4.1 is out to fix iCloud syncing bug
Apple recently launched iOS 26.4.1 and iPadOS 26.4.1. Apple claims that this simply featured bug fixes and no security updates, with the patch notes reading: “This update provides bug fixes for your iPhone.”
According to users on Apple’s developer forums, it addresses a severe iCloud sync flaw introduced in iOS 26.4. According to this thread on the Apple Developer Forums, the bug stopped devices running iOS/iPadOS 26.4 from receiving notifications that iCloud data had changed, resulting in them not receiving updated data from other devices.
This affected all first and third-party CloudKit apps, including Apple’s own Passwords app. This bug appears to be fixed with the 26.4.1 version. If you’re using the iOS 26.5 beta, you should be alright, as the bug does not present there.
To update your device, go to Settings and select General, then Software Updates, then follow the on-screen instructions.
