“Anti-venom alone cost…” – Man recounts how they saved colleague after snake bite at work

Amid the tragic death of fast-rising singer Ifunanya Nwangene popularly known as Nanyah, a man has shared his personal experience involving a colleague who survived a snakebite at work.

His account, particularly the cost of anti-venom used to save his colleague, has sparked widespread reactions on social media.

Colleague Survives Deadly Snakebite

The man, identified on X as @poetclem, recounted that his colleague was bitten by a venomous snake while on duty and revealed the costly price of the anti-venom needed to save him.

He wrote: “My colleague got bitten by a snake at work last month. The anti-venom alone we had to buy cost 300k.”

Struggle to Raise ₦300k for Anti-Venom

He explained that raising money immediately became a major challenge after learning the price of the life-saving anti-venom.

With no immediate access to the funds, they had to act quickly to save his colleague’s life.

“We had to run around to gather 300k for a doctor bitten by a snake on duty. Thank God he’s fine now,” he added.

Reflection on Nanyah’s Death

The man also reflected on the recent death of Ifunanya Nwangene, suggesting that timely access to anti-venom could have made a difference in her case.

“This isn’t even about the money. If Nanya had seen the anti-venom, I’m sure 300k wouldn’t have been a problem!”
