Anthony Joshua: Man who drove on same road 20 minutes before accident releases video ‘proving road was fine’

man who drove on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway just 20 minutes before world-renowned British boxer Anthony Joshua was involved in a car accident has spoken out, sharing his observations and a video of the road.

Eyewitness Drives Past Accident Site

Orowale Kolapo, popularly known on Facebook as Oni Foto, revealed that he traveled the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway shortly before the crash that left Anthony Joshua injured and tragically claimed the lives of his two team members, Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele.

Kolapo released a video showing the state of the road, countering claims that poor road conditions contributed to the accident.

Road Conditions Not a Factor, Says Eyewitness

Addressing reports that the crash was caused by the road’s condition, Kolapo dismissed such claims as false and part of a deliberate misinformation campaign.

He described the expressway as “one of the smoothest roads in Nigeria,” noting that there are no bumps from Berger to Iwo Road.

Possible Cause: Driver’s Miscalculation

While calling the accident “unfortunate,” Kolapo suggested that a driver’s error could have been the cause.

He emphasized that the road itself was not to blame.

Tribute to Deceased Team Members

Kolapo extended prayers for the souls of Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele, who lost their lives in the crash, expressing sympathy for their families and Anthony Joshua.

Video Shows Road Conditions

In his video, Kolapo showed the smooth stretch of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway minutes before the crash occurred.

He wrote alongside the post:

“Anthony Joshua’s accident was like 20 mins after I drove past the same road and there is a misconception and propaganda going on that it was bad road that caused the mishap. That is untrue. Lagos/Ibadan expressway is one of the smoothest roads in Nigeria as a whole. You will not step into a bump from Berger to Iwo Road. It is just unfortunate and I think it was a driver’s miscalculation. May the souls of the dead rest well.”

Anthony Joshua remains in a Lagos hospital receiving treatment following the accident, while the nation mourns the loss of his two close associates.
