Allwell Ademola was a talented plus-sized Nigerian actress, film producer, director, and singer. She was born on August 9, 1982, in Ogun State, Nigeria. Notably, she is the granddaughter of Sir Adetokunbo Ademola, Nigeria’s first indigenous Chief Justice.

She continued her family’s legacy by graduating from Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in Ile-Ife. Allwell started performing at a young age and rose to fame in 2008. She has been in several successful films, including Larodo Ojo, You or I (2013), Omo Emi (2017), and Aye Keji.

Her first experience on a film set was with the legendary actor Jide Kosoko. She also penned the script for Saheed Balogun’s film Eti Keta, in which she co-starred with Kate Henshaw. Allwell excelled in Yoruba Nollywood as an actor, director, producer, and singer. She was praised for her dynamic performances and ability to bring characters to life.

Allwell Ademola was born in Lagos on August 9, 1982, with family roots in Abeokuta, Ogun State. She has kept her family life private; however, it is confirmed that she is the granddaughter of Nigeria’s first Chief Justice, Adetokunbo Ademola, and the oldest child.

She grew up in Surulere, Lagos, a thriving community that shaped her formative years. Allwell Ademola completed her basic and secondary education in Surulere, Lagos.

After graduating secondary school in Surulere, Lagos, Allwell Ademola moved to Osun State to attend Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in Ile-Ife, where she earned a bachelor’s degree. Although the precise subject has not been made public, her college education provided a good foundation before entering the entertainment industry.

Allwell Ademola has established a legendary career in Nigerian entertainment, distinguished by originality, diversity, and long-term influence.

She began performing as a youngster on NTA’s “Animal Games” in 1986 and officially entered Nollywood in 1992, garnering broad acclaim in 2008 with notable parts in Yoruba cinema.

She worked seamlessly between Yoruba and English productions, playing drama, comedy, romance, and socially pertinent parts.

Ademola expanded her career by filming, producing, directing, and writing for her company, Allwell Ademola Production. She handled many cinematic projects, including Binta Ofege, Aroba, Gangan, Aseyiowu, Oju Oloore, False Flag, and Mimi’s Voice, totalling over 50 productions.

Personal Life

Allwell never married and has no husband. In 2005, she was engaged and on her way to marry, but tragedy struck when her fiancé was shot and killed by armed robbers just two months before the ceremony—she was apparently on the phone with him at the time.

Devastated, she mourned for two years before briefly dating his best man (who was supposed to be their best man), which lasted eight months before terminating.

Following these heartbreaks, she chose to concentrate only on her business, declaring in interviews that she had resolved to “fall in love with her job.” Unconfirmed reports circulated that she was romantically involved with coworkers, including actor Rotimi Salami (whom she mentored early in his career). Nonetheless, these claims were never proven, and she remained single afterward.

Allwell Ademola Death

Allwell Ademola passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at the age of 43. According to accounts, she had a sudden heart attack at her Lagos home. A neighbour took her to Ancilla Hospital in Agege, where she was pronounced dead.

The news rocked Nollywood. Actress Faithia Williams posted on Instagram, “Haaaa.” This hit me really hard. Eniobanke. “Allahu akbar. Allwell.” Damola Olatunji shared a candlelit photo with the remark, “Life is a mirage.”

Bidemi Kosoko replied, “No way.” No, no. It’s possible, ooo. This is not correct. God forbid, in Jesus’ name. I will not tolerate this, Lai Lai, God forbid. Olorun oni je. Please react to my email, Abeg Oremi / Aunty Mi. I will wait patiently for your response.”

Many colleagues and admirers mourned her untimely demise, remembering her as a kind and talented lady who contributed significantly to the industry.
