Al-Hilal eye Scott McTominay after Scudetto-winning season at Napoli
Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal have expressed interest in signing Scott McTominay following the midfielder’s outstanding debut campaign with Napoli, according to transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà.
McTominay, who joined the Serie A side from Manchester United last summer, played a crucial role in Napoli’s title-winning season and was named the league’s Most Valuable Player for 2024/25.
His performances have now drawn the attention of Al-Hilal, who recently appointed Simone Inzaghi as head coach.
Inzaghi, who saw McTominay dominate Serie A first-hand while managing Inter, is reportedly keen to bring the Scottish international to the Middle East to reinforce a midfield already featuring Ruben Neves and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
However, Napoli immediately rejected Al-Hilal’s enquiry, making it clear the 27-year-old is not for sale at any price.
Under Antonio Conte’s leadership, the Serie A champions are focused on squad reinforcement rather than letting go of key players.
Napoli are currently targeting further high-profile additions, including Manchester City’s Jack Grealish, to complement recent midfield recruit Kevin De Bruyne as the club prepares for an ambitious Champions League run in the 2025/26 campaign.
