AFCON 2025: Fulham fans arrive Morocco to back Iwobi, Bassey, Chukwueze against Mozambique

A group of Fulham supporters have travelled from London to Morocco to support Nigeria’s Super Eagles stars Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey and Samuel Chukwueze ahead of Monday’s Africa Cup of Nations round-of-16 clash against Mozambique.
The fans, who arrived in Fes before the knockout fixture, said their trip was motivated by admiration for the Nigerian trio and a broader attachment to the Super Eagles.
They also watched from home, Nigeria’s opening group-stage match against Tanzania earlier in the tournament.
Speaking to Nigerian journalist Ademola Victor, the supporters described Iwobi, Bassey and Chukwueze as standout performers and said they wanted to back them as they represent Nigeria on the continental stage.
They predicted the Super Eagles would defeat Mozambique by two goals and progress to the quarter-finals.

Growing support around Super Eagles
Nigeria head into the knockout match with confidence after scoring eight goals across three Group C games, one of the strongest attacking records in the group phase.
The Super Eagles are among the tournament favourites and remain under pressure to reach the latter stages.
Kick-off against Mozambique is scheduled for 8:00 pm local time at the Fez Stadium, with progression to the quarter-finals at stake. Defeat would bring Nigeria’s campaign to an abrupt end.
Financial incentives raised for knockouts
Beyond fan support, additional motivation has been introduced through performance-based bonuses.
Nigeria’s players will earn $10,000, approximately ₦14 million, for every goal scored against Mozambique, doubling the incentive offered during the group stage.
The bonus package is being funded by a Nigerian business figure who is also a partner of the national team, continuing a rewards structure introduced earlier in the competition.
