Adesanya vows to fight on after fourth loss – “I’m not f*cking leaving”

Former two-time UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has insisted he will continue his career despite suffering a fourth consecutive defeat.
The 36-year-old was stopped in the second round by rising contender Joe Pyfer in the main event at UFC Seattle on Saturday, extending a difficult run in the Octagon.
Adesanya responds to retirement talk
The latest setback has intensified debate around Adesanya’s future, with calls growing for the former champion to consider retirement. However, the Nigerian-born fighter made his position clear immediately after the bout.

“You keep going, again and again and again and again and again,” he said during his post-fight interview.
“I’m not f*cking leaving. You will never stop me. I might get beaten, but I’ll always remain undefeated.”
His comments underline a defiant stance despite a challenging period that has seen him struggle to regain top form in the middleweight division.
Decorated career under scrutiny
Adesanya remains one of the most accomplished fighters in UFC history. He first claimed the 185-pound title at UFC 236 in April 2019, defeating Kelvin Gastelum in a standout performance.
He went on to defend the belt five times before losing it to Alex Pereira at UFC 281 in 2022. Adesanya reclaimed the title in their rematch at UFC 287, becoming a two-time champion.
Despite his recent downturn, Adesanya’s legacy as one of the division’s elite figures remains intact. His immediate focus now shifts to rebuilding form.
