Adeleke urges NYSC members to uphold law ahead of Osun governorship election
Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has urged members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) deployed to the state to uphold the law, embrace peaceful coexistence and contribute positively to national development.
The governor, represented by the Commissioner for Youth Affairs, gave the charge during the swearing-in and official opening ceremony of the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Orientation Course at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Ede.

Adeleke urged the corps members to remain committed to the National Pledge and Oath of Allegiance administered during the ceremony, stressing the importance of resolving grievances through lawful and constitutional means.
He cautioned them against taking the law into their own hands and urged them to avoid actions that could negatively influence younger Nigerians who regard them as role models.
The governor also encouraged the corps members to respect ethnic, cultural and other differences while promoting unity, tolerance and mutual respect. He assured them of his administration’s continued support for the NYSC scheme, particularly regarding their welfare and safety.
Meanwhile, the NYSC Osun State Coordinator disclosed that about 3,000 corps members had registered for the three-week orientation programme as of midnight Thursday, including corps members previously displaced from Lagos State.
He also urged the corps members to maintain discipline and patriotism, noting that some would serve as ad hoc personnel during the forthcoming Osun governorship election.
He added that sensitisation had been conducted across all 27 local government areas to prepare corps members for their electoral responsibilities and promote a free, fair and credible election.
