‘A financially independent woman is hardly abused in a marriage’ – Nigerian lady says

A Nigerian lady with the handle @da-divah has sparked a debate on the platform after she stated that a financially independent woman is hardly abused in marriages.

”A financially independent woman is hardly abused in a marriage!!!”, she tweeted.

While some people agreed with her, others disagreed saying that a woman’s financial status does not discourage an abuser.

A Twitter user with the handle @SalvatoreMigodo noted that an abusive man has no respect of a lady’s financial status.

“This is not true by any stretch, what is true is that the financially independent woman has an exit route because she has money but the one without money stay a little/lot longer. An abusive man is an abusive man and abuse has no respect in any way.”, he tweeted.
