Over £100,000 worth of damage incurred in Tottenham new stadium vandalism

New Tottenham state-of-the-art £1 billion stadium recently fell victim to an act of vandalism, causing damages estimated at over £100,000.

According to reports by talkSPORT, the incident is said to have taken place during the international break, and an arrest has been made in connection with the case.

Tottenham released a statement addressing the incident, stating that there are no indications of an anti-Semitic motive due to the club’s association with the Jewish community.

“We can confirm that an individual was arrested for criminal damage following an incident that took place on Monday night. There is no indication that this incident is linked to anti-semitism,” the club said.

The British Metropolitan Police has also responded to the reports, confirming that a man has been arrested and charged with criminal damage and possession of drugs.

In a statement on social media, the Metropolitan Police clarified that it was not an anti-Semitic incident.

“We are aware of this incident, it happened on Monday night. It was not an anti-Semitic incident. A man was arrested. He has been charged with criminal damage and possession of Class B Drugs.”

When questioned about how they determined it was not a hate crime targeting the Jewish community, a police spokesperson responded, “We know this because officers were on the scene and have investigated this.”
