Kaduna prison inmates protest over Covid-19 outbreak, demand to be released

Inside many of these poorly maintained prisons, safeguards such as quarantines, social distancing, sanitary items and even proper health training are rare.

Inmates in Kaduna Central Correctional Service are currently protesting over the COVID-19 outbreak in Nigeria.

They are insisting that they should be released.

Security personnels including warders are currently battling the inmates, with gunshots heard all over the place.
