41-year-old woman welcomes quadruplets after 5 years of marriage, unable to pay ₦700k hospital bill (Photos)

41-year-old Maureen Anyaegbu has welcomed an adorable set of quadruplets, 3 girls and a boy after 5 years of marriage.

She successfully birthed her quadruplets aided by a team of 20 medical personnel in a surgery that lasted six hours.

Maureen and her husband, Nonso Anyaegbu welcomed their newborn babies at the Federal Medical Centre, Ebute Meta, Yaba, Lagos, on the 6th of August but have been unable to pay ₦700,000 hospital bill according to reports.

They have been married for about 5 years and had become worried when the 41-year-old woman couldn’t conceive.

According to Punch, the couple had gone to several prayer grounds and had also sought medical help.

The husband, explained that when his wife became pregnant, they hoped for only one child, but were surprised when the scan result showed quadruplets.

However, several online sources have reported that the husband and wife are unable to go home as a result of their inability to pay hospital bill of about ₦700,000.

“It is not yet uhuru for Nonso and Maureen Anyaegbu following the delivery of their quadruplets on August 6 as they cannot settle the estimated N700, 000 bill incurred at the Federal Medical Centre, Ebute Metta. Mrs Anyaegbu suffered complications after the delivery.

She has undergone surgery and transfusion of more than 12 pints of blood.

Mr Anyaegbu, a quantity surveyor, previously worked in a mortgage bank but currently engages in “bits and pieces to get money for the family”. He supplies doors and building materials to construction sites when he gets orders.
