2027: “Tinubu planning to drop Shettima for a sitting governor” – Primate Ayodele reveals

Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has claimed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is considering replacing Vice President Kashim Shettima ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

In a statement signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, the outspoken cleric reiterated his long-standing warning against the Muslim–Muslim ticket, insisting that the decision is now creating internal pressure within the ruling party.

“I warned Tinubu of a Muslim-Muslim ticket, but most people didn’t listen,” Ayodele said.

According to him, removing Shettima in a hostile manner could seriously damage the party, as the vice president may no longer support its political interests if sidelined unfairly.

Primate Ayodele also cautioned President Tinubu against selecting any of the governors who recently defected to the party, particularly from the northern region, warning that such a move could trigger serious backlash.

“If Shettima is removed acrimoniously, he will work against the interest of the party because they are contemplating picking a governor to replace him,” he warned.

Speaking further, the cleric acknowledged that Tinubu is making efforts in governance but claimed unseen forces are working against his administration.

Ayodele added that betrayal within Tinubu’s inner circle and external influences are major challenges confronting the president, especially on the issue of insecurity.

“On insecurity, no matter the security formation you put together, the US doesn’t like your government, and they know where to puncture this government,” he stated.

As 2027 approaches, these comments have intensified conversations around Tinubu’s political calculations, internal party loyalty, and the future of the current vice president.
