2027: Sowore blasts Davido as Gov. Adeleke endorses Tinubu after his re-election victory

Nigerian political activist and publisher, Omoyele Sowore, has criticised Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and his family over their political activities and alleged support for President Bola Tinubu.
Sowore made the remarks in a viral post on X while reacting to reports that Davido, the governor’s cousin, allegedly disagreed with Adeleke’s decision to endorse Tinubu for a second term.

The activist recalled his earlier criticism of Adeleke, saying he had described the governor as lacking political understanding. He claimed Davido had responded angrily to the remark at the time.
Sowore questions Davido’s political position
Sowore said the reported disagreement between Davido and Adeleke over Tinubu’s endorsement was consistent with his earlier concerns about the family’s political choices.
He, however, questioned whether Nigerians should rely on Davido’s latest position, citing the singer’s previous decision to delete a post in which he said he would not support Tinubu for another term.
“I stated categorically that Governor Ademola Adeleke @AAdeleke_01 empty upstairs. Of course, his loud and lousy cousin, @Davido, couldn’t take it and went on a rant.
“But I wasn’t speaking merely because I oppose political idiocy; perhaps I was being clairvoyant. I’m now reading that @Davido “allegedly” disagrees with his uncle’s endorsement of Tinubu @officialabat for a ruinous second term as Nigeria’s president.
“But you can you trust @Davido on this. This is the same @Davido who deleted his tweet saying he would not support Tinubu for a disastrous second term.
“At the end of the day, Nigerians should watch what they do, not merely what they say.”
Activist alleges family interests drive politics
Sowore further alleged that the Adeleke family’s political activities were driven by private and family interests rather than public service.
He claimed the family was focused on protecting its interests in the power sector and maintaining political influence in Osun State.
“Their politics revolve around family interests, protecting their stakes in the power sector, their cash cow, and maintaining their grip on Osun State, which they treat like a family jackpot.
“That is not public service. It is politics built around private interests.”
The comments come amid political discussions surrounding the 2027 presidential election and growing attention to the positions of prominent Nigerian political figures and celebrities.
