2027: Nigerians won’t vote for a man being fed by wife – Hassan

Alwan Hassan, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has stated that Nigeria should not be led by a man who relies on his wife for support.
His comment was in response to former Minister of Transportation and 2027 presidential hopeful, Chibuike Amaechi, who had described his wife, Judith Amaechi, as the “backbone” of their family, noting that her entrepreneurial skills existed even before his time in public service.

During an appearance on Politics Today on Channels Television, Amaechi was questioned about the source of his wealth and attributed much of his family’s financial stability to his wife’s hard work.
Reacting during a separate interview on the same network, Hassan criticized Amaechi’s statement, claiming it showed he lacked leadership in his home.
He argued that a man dependent on his wife is unfit to lead the country and emphasized that Nigerians will choose a self-sufficient, capable leader, not someone who is supported by his spouse.
He said …
“Is it those ones that are saying their wives are taking care of them? We cannot hand over this country to such people, to men that are being fed by their wives.
“You know that somebody was here and said his wife is an entrepreneur and she’s…we want a man that is a man of his house. We want a man that is in charge of his house. We don’t want a man that a woman is feeding.
“We will not, no, no, we will not hand over a country to a man that is being fed by his wife. A man that is being fed by his wife. That’s what I’m saying.”
