A mini-truck driver in Ekiti State, Adeleye Adeniyi, has disclosed that he took out a N3.5 million loan to support the 2027 re-election campaigns of President Bola Tinubu, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele and Ekiti State lawmaker Steve Fatoba.

Adeniyi, who hails from Ado-Ekiti and is popularly called “Online Loan Man for BAO”, revealed his decision during an interview with journalists that went viral on Friday.

How Adeniyi plans to share the money

During the interview, the driver presented a cardboard cheque bearing the Wema Bank name to illustrate how he intended to distribute the funds among the three politicians.

According to the breakdown, Tinubu would receive N2 million, Bamidele N1 million, while Fatoba would get N500,000.

Adeniyi explained that his decision to borrow the money was influenced by what he considered the politicians’ performance in office.

Expressing support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition, he said, “I am supporting Mr President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his second-term ambition. I have borrowed money. I want to use this money to support him because he’s doing a very great job.”

Driver pledges to campaign for Tinubu

Beyond providing financial support, Adeniyi said he was prepared to participate actively in Tinubu’s re-election campaign.

He disclosed that he intended to use a campaign song to promote the President’s second-term bid.

“Like I said again, I am fully ready to go out to campaign for him. And I’m going to use this song to back him up. On your mandate, we shall stand,” he said.

The driver also appealed to Nigerians to support Tinubu, Bamidele and Fatoba at the polls, expressing confidence that another term for the President would bring further benefits.

“I will appeal to my fellow Nigerians that we should demonstrate love by giving him, by voting him for his second term in office, because we are still going to see much more, more than what we have received,” Adeniyi stated.

Praises Bamidele, Oyebanji over development projects

Adeniyi also commended Bamidele and Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji for what he described as their contributions to development across the state.

He specifically mentioned healthcare, education, electricity and rural infrastructure as areas where he believed their efforts had made a difference.

Addressing Bamidele, the driver expressed optimism about the senator’s political future and praised his support for development projects.

“Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, this man, I pray that we are still going to higher places. Most times, I look at the kind of projects that you always put on, you always supported. It always encouraged me that, no, indeed, this is a good leader,” he said.
