2027: “I don’t see you winning” — Delta Governor’s aid tells Peter Obi

In a fresh political remark ahead of the 2027 general election, a senior aide to the Delta State Governor has ruled out the possibility of former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, winning the presidency.

Ossai Ovie Success, Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor, made the assertion in a post shared on his official Facebook page, where he directly addressed the former presidential candidate and commented on his political prospects.

According to him, the political conditions that influenced the 2023 presidential election will not be replicated in 2027, arguing that the momentum and voter sentiments that previously shaped the outcome may no longer be available to Obi.

He stated that the Labour Party candidate may not benefit from what he described as protest-driven voting patterns or the same level of regional and religious sympathy that played a role in the last election cycle.

He further maintained that the political landscape is expected to change significantly, making future outcomes less predictable for all contestants.

The aide also expressed personal disappointment in Obi’s political direction, insisting that the 2027 election would present a different challenge that may not favour him.

Peter Obi, who contested the 2023 presidential election under the Labour Party, emerged as one of the major contenders in that race, gaining substantial support particularly among young voters and urban populations across different parts of the country.

His performance in 2023 reshaped Nigeria’s electoral conversation, introducing a strong third-force movement that significantly altered traditional voting dynamics between major political parties.
