2027: “After Tinubu, Rainbow coalition will produce every elective position in Rivers” – Wike declares

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared that candidates backed by his Rainbow Coalition will sweep all elective positions in Rivers State during the 2027 general elections.
Wike made the statement on Wednesday while addressing supporters during his “thank you” visit to Asari Toru Local Government Area of the state.
Rainbow Coalition Targets 2027 Elections
The Rainbow Coalition operates under the Renewed Hope Family, a political platform initiated by Wike to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu’s second-term bid in Rivers State.
The initiative brings together members of different political parties, collapsing party lines into a single political family focused on shared interests.
According to Wike, politicians in Rivers State have moved beyond partisan divisions to unite for the collective progress of the state under the Renewed Hope Family.
“After Tinubu, the Rainbow Coalition will produce every elective position in Rivers State in 2027. So, if you don’t belong to this rainbow family, forget it,” Wike said.
Support for Tinubu Already Paying Off – Wike
The minister highlighted what he described as benefits already accruing to Rivers people following their support for Tinubu in the 2023 elections.
He assured residents that improved outcomes were ahead, saying, “This year will be better than last year.”
Wike thanked the people for remaining firm in their political decision, describing their support as crucial to the state’s development.
He also praised community leaders for their loyalty, noting that the political risks they took in 2023 were now yielding positive results.
“Continue on this track and you will continue to reap good results. I assure you that I will stand with you at the appropriate time,” he added.
Local Leaders Pledge Loyalty
Earlier, Asari Toru Local Government chairman, Mr Onengiyeofori George, expressed appreciation to Wike for his contributions to the area.
He assured the minister that the local government remained united under the Renewed Hope Family.
Also speaking, Chief Michael West, who represents Asari Toru Constituency II in the Rivers State House of Assembly, commended Wike for rallying support for Tinubu.
Describing Wike as a “good leader,” West praised him for playing a key role in producing an Ijaw governor in Rivers State, the first since Nigeria’s return to democracy.
He pledged continued support from the people, stressing that they would stand with Wike wherever his political journey leads.
