2026 World Cup draw: Morocco face Brazil in high-stakes group matchups [full list]

The draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup has set the stage for several heavyweight clashes, with England landing Ghana, Brazil facing a tricky test against Morocco, and Senegal facing France.

Hosts United States face Paraguay, while Argentina are paired with Austria.

Hosted across Canada, Mexico and the United States, the draw featured political and sports heavyweights conducting selections.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney pulled Canada into Group B, Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum placed her nation in Group A, and U.S. President Donald Trump assigned the USMNT (United States Men’s National Team) to Group D.

Top seeds learn their pathways

Brazil were the first non-host team drawn, selected by Birmingham shareholder Tom Brady into Group C.

Germany followed into Group E, the Netherlands into Group F, Belgium into Group G, Spain into Group H, Argentina into Group J, France into Group I, Portugal into Group K and England, the last team out into Group L.

For England, managed by Thomas Tuchel, group-stage fixtures will take them to either Toronto or Dallas first, then Toronto or Boston, and finally New York or Philadelphia.

NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal handled Pot 2 selections, while MLB star Aaron Judge drew from Pot 3, and hockey icon Wayne Gretzky completed the process with Pot 4.
