Olamide Shuts Down Eko Hotel, Hurls Jabs At Colleagues



There was a remarkable turnout of guests at the popular Eko Hotel and Suites as ace presenter, comedian and actor Yaw staged the 8th edition of his annual show ‘Shalanga’ alongside popular comedian, Ayo Makun (AY). The start studded show had in attendance guests from various facets of life.

The enviable role call of guests included Abimbola Fashola wife of former Lagos state governor, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha former Chief Security Officer to the late Head of State, Sani Abacha, Timaya, Uti Nwanchukwu, comedian Ushbebe, Ali Baba and wife, Ik Ogbonna and wife Sonia, Iyabo Ojo, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Dayo Amusa,  Korede Bello, Reekado Banks, Olamide, Don Jazzy, Dr Sid, Solid Star, Harrysong, Burna Boy, Stephanie Linus, Richard Mofe Damijo (RMD) among others.

The stage play began in earnest as Yaw and AY excellently interpreted the theme of the stage play ‘Shalanga’ by relating it to the current economic situation of the country. The stage play also highlighted trivial issues such as the country’s poor economy, President Buhari’s frequent travelling and Edible catering making reference to Tiwa Savage and Tee Billz. Top of the performance for the night was a rendition by popular YBNL record label boss, Olamide.


He used the opportunity to hurl jabs at some of his colleagues who he felt were proud. Addressing his colleagues, Olamide disclosed that, they need to start appreciating their fans the more not just by standing on the stage and not moving around especially to the regular section.

Olamide also buttressed his point by telling how the servers and security officials need to be well appreciated because they have the power to protect our lives, by making reference to the waitress who has the power to poison our meals. He said this in order for everyone to value and appreciate them not to look down on them because of the nature of their job.
