Nigerian Champions, Kano Pillars, were on Saturday knocked out of the CAF Champions League after they failed to overturn a 3-1 deficit they suffered last week in DR Congo.
Kano Pillars defeated AS Vito of DR Congo 2-1 at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano on Saturday but lost out on 4-3 aggregate
Etekiama Agiti of AS Vito FC took advantage of some defensive mix up in the first minute of the entertaining encounter to score.
Pillars FC bounced back in the 66th and 70th minutes through substitute Kabiru Umar and Abdul Haruna to score two goals.
In a post match briefing, Kano Pillars FC Board Chairman, Alhaji Abba Yola, said he was pleased with the performance of the players.
“I am pleased with the performance of the players even though, we are out. I also want to commend Mr Okey Emordi for the good work,” he said.
Similarly, Vitos Manager, Florent Igete, thanked his players for winning the game away from home.
