Howard Webb might have fallen foul of David Moyes and Brendan Rodgers over recent controversial decisions, but he’s still been named the best referee in the world.
Webb, whose decision-making was branded ‘scandalous’ by United boss Moyes last week, scooped the award from the International Federation of Football History & Statistics.
The IFFHS picked Webb ahead of Italy’s Nicola Rizzol and Hungary’s Viktor Kassai.
Webb previously won the award in 2010, but was down in third place in 2012, only to rise to the top again in 2013.
The winner is decided by experts from over 70 countries
