“This is how I’ll go” – Pastor Adeboye speaks on when he wants to die

Renowned clergyman Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has shared his thoughts on the manner in which he intends to die.

During Day 3 of the RCCG Holy Ghost Congress at the church auditorium in Ogun state, Pastor Adeboye expressed a wish for a stress-free and peaceful passing, revealing his aspiration to depart in a manner similar to that of his late uncle.

Pastor Adeboye shared his wish to follow in the footsteps of his late uncle, who, without any prior illness or discomfort, passed away peacefully in the toilet after returning from church and enjoying a light lunch. The uncle had been waiting for a meal of pounded yam prepared by his wife.

During his address, Pastor Adeboye recounted the incident, stating that his uncle had gone to the toilet while his wife was in the kitchen preparing the meal. To everyone’s surprise, when the wife finished pounding the yam and knocked on the door, the uncle had peacefully departed.

Expressing his desire for a similar serene passing, Pastor Adeboye said;

I know somebody will say, well, if we are never sick, then how are we ever going to die and go to Heaven? You don’t need to be sick to go to Heaven.

“An uncle of mine woke up on a Thanksgiving Sunday, went to Church, danced like everybody else, came home, the wife gave him a light breakfast before preparing the original food – pounded yam. She was already pounding the yam when my uncle decided to go to the toilet.

“After she finished pounding, she knocked at the door of the toilet; when they opened the door, my uncle was gone. No sickness, no ache, no pain. If the Lord tarries His Coming, I will go on a Sunday after a good meal of pounded yam.”
