It was gathered that the labour union blocked the main gate of the company, leaving the staff of DisCo stranded outside the main building.

Recall that the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) had vowed to embark on a nationwide shutdown of offices belonging to the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) and Distribution Companies (DisCos), following their failure to meet the unions’ demand for a complete reversal of the recent electricity tariff hike.

The unions are determined to take drastic action to push for a reduction in the tariffs, which have sparked widespread outrage among consumers.
