Newcastle reject Bayern bid for Kieran Trippier

Newcastle United have reportedly turned down a bid from Bayern Munich for their player Kieran Trippier.

The German club, in search of a new right-back, had offered £12 million for the England defender, but the Magpies are insisting on their decision to keep him at St James’ Park.

Reports from The Athletic has it that Newcastle is resolute that Trippier will not be sold this month and that the player himself respects the club’s decision.

However, it is unclear if Bayern included German international Joshua Kimmich in the deal, a player admired by Newcastle boss Eddie Howe.

Newcastle’s stance on Trippier could be part of their strategy to avoid breaching Financial Fair Play rules, says The Sun UK.

Recall before now, the club had reportedly reached an agreement to sell Miguel Almiron to Saudi Pro League side Al-Shabab,

Newcastle CEO Darren Eales had previously stated that every player has a price, and that when they get the right price for their players, they could enter negotiation.
