Man defiles his 6-year-old daughter in Akwa Ibom

One Sunday Michael Ben has been arrested by Akwa Ibom State police command for allegedly defiling his six-year-old daughter.

The State Police Commissioner, CP Olatoye Durosinmi, paraded the suspect alongside others at the police headquarters, Ikot Akpanabia, Uyo on Wednesday, August 29, 2023.

However, the suspect, during interrogation, denied the allegation. 

He said, “I had my daughter with me in the house, and that night, I woke up to fix my heater that was bad because there was light. I didn’t touch her. I believe my girlfriend, who was with me in the house, committed the act. I only noticed in the morning that she had bloodstains on her leg,” he said.

The victim, on her part, explained that somebody touched her at night, but she didn’t see the person who touched her and couldn’t say anything. 

The Commissioner affirmed that the suspect would be charged in court after the conclusion of investigation.

In other news, a newborn baby boy dumped in a pit toilet by his mother was rescued alive three days after in Otuocha, Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Narrating how the baby was rescued, the Anambra Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Affairs said the 20-year-old mother, Nwaedoka Chidimma, from Izzi, Ebonyi state, gave birth to the baby on  Sunday, August 27, 2023 and dumped him in the toilet.  READ MORE…
