Jealous 24-year-old housewife kills 4-day-old stepson with insecticide

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 24-year-old woman, Furera Abubakar, for allegedly causing the death of a 4-day-old baby belonging to her co-wife.

The incident took place at Bantu village in Ningi Local Government area of the state.

According to a statement by the spokesperson of the command, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, the distressing incident occurred on August 19, 2023, just before the infant’s scheduled naming ceremony.

The victim, who was born on August 15, 2023, tragically lost his life due to the alleged actions of Furera Abubakar.

Initial investigations have revealed that Furera Abubakar is a co-wife of the nursing mother, and her actions appear to have been driven by malicious intent.
